U of U to offer master's in real estate The Associated Press Updated: 10/18/2009 01:18:57 PM MDT Salt Lake City » University of Utah will soon begin offering a master's degree in real estate development. The state Board of Regents approved the change Friday. Scott Schaefer, an associate dean at the university's business school, says construction has long been one of the important drivers of Utah's economy. When the state's construction business picks up again, the school plans to help meet an expected demand for those who understand private and commercial real estate development. The university will be among a small number of schools that offer a master's in real estate development. Others include MIT, Arizona State, Clemson and Columbia.
